Jacek Sienkiewicz

Jacek Sienkiewicz is a Warsaw-based producer, composer, and live performer, widely regarded as one of the pioneers and most influential figures in Polish electronic music. For more than twenty-five years, he has developed a distinctive artistic language situated between minimal techno, ambient, and contemporary experimental composition. His work is marked by meticulous attention to sound and form, moving fluidly between rhythm, abstraction, and finely sculpted sonic detail. Across an extensive body of work, Sienkiewicz has consistently expanded the possibilities of electronic composition and live electronics, positioning his practice at the intersection of club culture, sound art, and contemporary music.

In 1999, he founded the Recognition label, which has played a pivotal role in the development of Poland’s electronic music scene, serving as a platform for both his own releases and those of a new generation of artists. Over the years, he has collaborated with musicians including Ricardo Villalobos, Max Loderbauer, Robert Piotrowicz, and Atom™.

In recent years, his practice has increasingly extended into interdisciplinary contexts, composing music for theatre, dance, radio plays, and film. He has also created reinterpretations of works connected to the legacy of the Polish Radio Experimental Studio. In 2024, the Museum of Art in Łódź presented his sonic interpretation of Alea iacta est by Stanisław Dróżdż.

Sienkiewicz has performed at leading international festivals including MUTEK and transmediale, as well as in clubs, concert halls, and art institutions around the world.
