wræżlivøść (Kamil Piotrowicz) × Tymek Papior — Special Project
wræżlivøść is an artistic direction developed by Kamil Piotrowicz — a space for working with emotional intensity, tension, and contrasting modes of organizing sonic material that extends beyond stable genre divisions. The project brings together compositional thinking, improvisation, and electronic practice, treating sound as a medium capable of condensing different states, energies, and forms of presence.
At Sanatorium of Sound 2026, wræżlivøść meets the practice of Tymek Papior, a drummer and performer who has spent years developing a distinctive language rooted in rhythm, gesture, and the physicality of performance. While the two artists have collaborated previously in various configurations and projects, the work prepared for the festival takes the form of a distinct, specially conceived collaboration.
The project will unfold as a spatial performance presented in a quadraphonic setup. Rather than relying on a conventional relationship between instrument and accompaniment, it focuses on creating a shared field of tensions between electronics, movement, performative energy, and the organization of space. Sound is approached not as a fixed object, but as a situation evolving in time—intense, unstable, and directly shaped by both the site and the presence of the audience.
Developed specifically for Sanatorium of Sound 2026, this performance will be a unique, one-time event created exclusively for the festival.
