Lázara Rosell Albear
Lázara Rosell Albear is a Cuban-Belgian multidisciplinary sound artist, performer, and researcher working at the intersection of performance, experimental music, and ritual. Her practice explores voice, movement, and technology as tools for transformation, communication, and transgression. Her performances weave together elements of improvisation, physical poetry, and Afro-Caribbean traditions with contemporary approaches to sound.
Rosell Albear has presented her work at international festivals and contemporary art venues across Europe, South America, and Japan. Based in Brussels, she is an active participant in the experimental scene, co-initiating independent artistic platforms and working as a curator and educator.
At Sanatorium of Sound, she will present a sound performance rooted in voice, rhythm, and embodied presence. Her appearance brings an intense, emotional dimension to the festival program—engaging with memory, spirituality, and the ritualistic potential of sound as an embodied practice.
