Keith Rowe is a British musician and painter, and one of the leading figures of electroacoustic improvised music (EAI). He was a co-founder of AMM, one of the first European free improvisation ensembles, as well as the founder of the supergroup MIMEO. Rowe is renowned for his use of unconventional techniques of prepared guitar, alongside acoustic objects, signal generators and radio-wave transmitters. Through these means he creates complex improvised structures that recall some of the finest achievements of studio electronic music, electroacoustic music and musique concrète.
