Machine of Changes
Aug 2, 2024 -- 2:00

“Machine of Change” is a long durational sound performance consisting of the modification of field recordings from the urban space with sounds generated by Wojtek Bernatowicz and the voice of Zofia Kuligowska (Rudger Power duo). Several-hour recordings were enhanced with synthesizer sounds, overlaid with sound effects, and enriched with vocals. The field recordings include signs, billboards, and announcements read out loud, forming the informational fabric of the city. The piece has a processual character, taking the form of a trance by repeating questions about the current state of the world. Can we ever still be saved?
