WATERTIME LISBOA 2006
Aug 3, 2024 -- 11:15

Water from the Białka River (Poland) from the years 1971 and 2005 has been transmitted by photography in 2006 to the Museum of Water in Lisbon. Time Units occurred between the years 1971, 2005, and 2006, while water remains the main link maintaining this continuity. Space-time sustains many beings and elements, and water is fundamental to our existence.

Time units 1971-73

The photographic image is a permanent record of time. Every image, in itself a record of a certain time period, at the same time defines its own position in time. Every photograph begins or ends a given time period, which may be assumed, incidental, independent (from the person registering it), impossible to define (when the registration is carried out by another person). As the one who registers it, I can measure the given period of time in accepted time units, not measure it (but it will be fixed in my memory anyway, I am able to perform an approximation), or not know it at all.
